All Love Has a Cost

Everyone pays a price

All Love Has a Cost:

They say that you cannot love without loss

That love has trials and errors

That love has imperfections that make it beautiful

But how do you define when you’ve lost too much?

How can you decide when you’ve given enough?

How do you tell when you’ve been unfair?

Love requires sacrifice tied with sorrows

It requires patience that is rooted in stubborn perseverance

And it requires resilience that is often not deserved

We love because we don’t want to lose what we have

Even when the world is screaming at you to let go

You can’t

You know you should, that it could benefit you

But you won’t

Because all love has a price

A price that is undefined

A debt you must pay

A cruel cost to all

But if love has a cost

Then what is the currency,

And how do you know when you’ve paid too much?
